GERARDo Vázquez // SPANISH MINISTER, Spiritual Director

Gerardo officially joined the ministry team as our Spanish Minister in 2022, although he has been part of the Bammel staff for quite some time. His passion for spiritual formation and love for God are evident in his interactions with everyone he meets. Gerardo and his wife, Julia, are active members of our Spanish ministry.

DERRICK DEPRIEST // WORSHIP MINISTER

Derrick joined the staff in March 2022. Derrick and his wife Amy along with their two children, Jordan and Baylee, moved to Houston from Chattanooga, TN in the summer of 2022. We are thrilled to have them here with us!

The DePriests have had a love for Bammel for quite some time and are looking forward to investing even more deeply in the life of our church family.

Gail Matthews // Women's Minister

Gail coordinates and oversees our ministry to grow our women in their walk with God.

Gail has been a part of the Bammel church family since 1974, and joined the staff team in 2000. She is married to Richard Matthews and thoroughly enjoys her roles as wife, mom, mother-in-law, and grandmother. She is a graduate of Abilene Christian University and has taught high school and middle school mathematics. Gail loves working with the women of the Bammel Church, valuing the contributions they make to the body of Christ. She is most excited about the fact that God, who began a good work in her years ago, has promised to carry it on to completion (Phil. 1:6). Hallelujah!

Michael Montalvo // body life MINISTER

Michael's responsibilities include coordinating pastoral care, helping new members find their ministry home at Bammel, and growing our life group ministry.

Michael joined the Bammel team in March of 2003. He is married to Tami, a most amazing and beautiful woman, and Michael’s best friend. Michael’s focus is fostering discipleship and service through community, both within and outside the four walls of the Bammel Church. He is passionate about connecting people to Jesus and work that brings him glory by working with the Greeting, Life Group, and New Member Enfolding Ministries. He loves cycling, reading, conversation, coffee, music, the flight of a hawk, and the teachings of a carpenter from Nazareth.

Leigh Ann Sharp // INVOLVEMENT MINISTER, Spiritual Director

Leigh Ann has been on staff at Bammel since 2003. As our Involvement Minister, she helps to equip and encourage our ministry leaders, and assists individuals in finding a place to serve that matches their gifts, abilities, and interests. She enjoys coming alongside people on their spiritual journey and walking with them through the highs and lows of life.

BRITNEY STOLTE // CHILDREN'S MINISTER

As our Children's Minister, Britney coordinates, equips, and oversees children’s Bible classes, childcare, and community family events.

Britney came on staff as the children’s minister in November of 2021. Previous to that she worked in the public school system as an elementary teacher for 12 years. Britney continues to use her passion for teaching, and interacting with children and their families, by equipping our families for a life founded in their faith in Christ. She strongly believes in the importance of HOME and CHURCH coming alongside each other to reach a common goal. Britney and her husband Mike, have 5 children. They spend their time together doing a lot of football, soccer and barrel racing.

BRANDYN TREAT // Youth MINISTER, Student Therapist

Brandyn is a graduate of Oklahoma Christian University and has been serving in a Youth Minister role since 2016. He joined our Bammel team in the summer of 2022. His wife, Emily, is a nurse who currently works in the Houston Med Center. He is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from ACU Online.

Brandyn has a heart for walking alongside students through all the many stages & obstacles they encounter through these pivotal years in their lives. In a time when they are genuinely finding and strengthening their identities, he looks for ways to point them to the love that is offered in Christ Jesus. As well as making great memories and having some laughs along the way.

Jimmie Sue Long // ministry assistant

Since 2017, Jimmie Sue has been the face behind the voice on the phone when you call the office. A graduate from Lubbock Christian University, she uses her Business and Computer degrees along with her creativity to design graphics for church communications and to maintain our website. She also serves on our Worship Ministry Team both singing and putting together our visuals for service.

Jimmie Sue and her husband, Rodney, met in middle school right here at Bammel when their churches came to a youth event we hosted. They have been married since 1999 and have four beautiful children.

Roger Gragert // Facilities Manager

Roger is the hands-on caretaker of our 27 acres and coordinates everything related to the Bammel facility.

Roger is Houston born and raised. He came to Bammel in 1971 and was blessed to begin working here taking care of the facilities in 2003. He is married to Noel and has 3 children - Lauren, Ross, and Taylor. Roger loves his family, loves his job, and loves his Bammel family. He is a huge fan of Disney and a huge collector of anything Disney. Goofy is his favorite character. Favorite Quote: All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them. ~ Walt Disney
